To reset Internet Explorer, visit the following link: Note: Please be aware of what settings are affected by resetting Internet Explorer to defaults before performing these actions. Resetting Internet Explorer will have different effects depending on the browser version and whether the Delete Personal Settings checkbox is selected. Review the table below for those differences.

The following items are always reset to their defaults:
  • ActiveX Filtering
  • Advanced settings
  • Autocomplete settings and data
  • Browser Helper Objects (BHOs), Browser Extensions, and 3rd party toolbars are all disabled
  • Cache size
  • Colors, Languages, Fonts, Tabbed Browsing, and Accessibility settings
  • Days to keep pages in history
  • Delete browsing history on exit checkbox
  • Feeds settings (not the feeds themselves)
  • In private filtering settings
  • LAN Settings (any proxy information remains but is disabled) ("Note" Do not perform on work computers)
  • Popup blocker exception websites
  • Privacy settings
  • Require server verification for trusted sites checkbox
  • Security level for all zones
  • Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the default web browser checkbox
  • Text size settings
  • Toolbar location and visibility
  • Tracking Protection
The following will not be affected by a browser reset:
  • Check for newer versions of stored pages
  • Content Advisor
  • Dialup and Virtual Private Network Settings
  • Favorites
  • Feeds and Web Slices
  • Sites added to the restricted zone
  • Sites added to the trusted zone
  • Website cookie exceptions
  • Zoom settings
